Virtual Event
Since January 2013, the Compliance Officer for Finance and Administration (COFA) has had a significant responsibility for ensuring law firm’s meet their regulatory obligations and compliance with the SRA Accounts Rules and that any breaches of the rules are documented and reported to the SRA promptly if the COFA decides the breach is serious.
The COFA also has a duty under the SRA Code of Conduct for Firms to implement compliance systems, procedures, controls and must report to the SRA when the practice is in serious financial difficulties. The responsibilities placed on the COFA are broad and role comes with personal liability.
If you’re the COFA, Deputy COFA, Compliance Officer or someone who directly supports the COFA, we’re here to help and support you.
