Michelle Houghton is a legal finance manager and compliance professional with a wealth of experience and a sustained record of success within the Legal sector. She has gained key expertise across a diverse range of areas including change and practice management, legal services and compliance.

Michelle is currently the Finance Manager at Bell Lamb & Joynson Solicitors. Previously, she worked at FDR Law and was there for 12 years. She started as a legal cashier and progressed to Finance Manager before leaving.

With over 12 years of legal cashiering and management experience, Michelle has achieved up to level 4 of her AAT in professional accounting and has also completed her ILFM Diploma in 2014.

Both a team player and an independent thinker, with valuable problem solving and decision-making skills, Michelle is a regular commentator  on legal finance and compliance topics on the Association of Legal Compliance & Accounts forum, the Social Support Team where she is instrumental in providing help and support to individuals and firms that attend.

Outside of work, Michelle is passionate about food and wine and loves going out with her husband. To relax, Michelle enjoys yoga and loves live music, her favourite band is Stereophonics which she has seen several times.
